Automation track

Microsoft Power Automate

Build the flows that quietly run a modern office — approvals, document capture, system-to-system sync — across SharePoint, Outlook, Teams and Dataverse, with governance that survives an audit.

Who this is for

For people who already understand the business process

Power Automate rewards domain knowledge. If you know why the approval takes four days, you are most of the way to automating it.

Excel-heavy office roles

Finance, HR, admin and coordination staff who live in spreadsheets and email. The mental model transfers almost directly to flows and expressions.

Graduates targeting Microsoft shops

A large share of Hyderabad employers run on Microsoft 365. Power Platform skills get you inside those teams without a development degree.

RPA developers broadening out

Already comfortable with UiPath? Cloud flows and Dataverse make you useful on the Microsoft side of the same automation conversations.

Not the right track if…

You have never used a spreadsheet seriously. Expressions, arrays and conditions arrive in week two and the pace assumes you can already reason about rows and columns. RPA with UiPath is the softer start.

Curriculum

Ten modules, each ending in a live flow

  • How Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse and Power BI fit together
  • Licensing tiers, premium connectors and what they cost in practice
  • Where flows live: environments, default vs managed
  • Choosing the right trigger type for the job
  • Trigger conditions and avoiding infinite loops
  • Recurrence schedules, time zones and sliding windows
  • Testing a flow properly instead of hoping
  • SharePoint lists and libraries as a data backend
  • Outlook and Teams for notification and interaction
  • Dataverse tables, columns and relationships
  • SQL connector basics and the HTTP action for everything else
  • Compose, Parse JSON, Filter array, Select and Apply to each
  • Writing and debugging expressions without guessing
  • Concurrency control and why it matters on large loops
  • Handling nulls and inconsistent source data
  • Single, everyone-must-approve and first-to-respond patterns
  • Adaptive cards in Teams and actionable email
  • Escalation, reassignment and timeout handling
  • Recording the approval trail for audit
  • When a desktop flow is the only option left
  • UI element selectors, recorders and stability
  • Triggering desktop flows from a cloud flow
  • Attended versus unattended desktop runs
  • Building a canvas app front end over a Dataverse table
  • Calling a flow from an app and returning a response
  • Basic form design and validation
  • Training a form-processing model on sample invoices
  • Extracting fields and tables, then validating confidence scores
  • Routing low-confidence extractions to a human
  • Configure run-after for genuine error paths
  • Scopes, try/catch patterns and retry policies
  • Reading run history to diagnose a production failure
  • Alerting an owner when a flow stops silently
  • Solutions as the unit of deployment
  • Moving from development to test to production
  • Environment variables and connection references
  • Data loss prevention policies and why admins insist on them

Two flows for your portfolio

Leave-approval workflow

Triggered from a SharePoint request list, branching on duration, routed through Teams approvals with escalation, writing the decision back to Dataverse and notifying the requester.

Invoice-capture flow

An AI Builder form-processing model reads incoming invoices, extracts header and line data, validates totals, and routes anything below the confidence threshold to a human reviewer.
